The Motivation Seeker: EnthusiasmEbbs, Dublin, Ireland
Staying motivated during slow periods was a challenge.
I’m EnthusiasmEbbs from Dublin, Ireland. As a freelance graphic designer, I loved the thrill of busy periods, but when things slowed down, my motivation plummeted. The lack of immediate deadlines and feedback left me feeling stagnant and uninspired.
How I Reignited My Spark:
- Set small, achievable goals: Instead of focusing on long-term projects, I broke down my tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks. This gave me a sense of accomplishment and momentum.
- Invested in professional development: I took online courses, attended workshops, and read industry publications to keep my skills sharp and learn new techniques.
- Connected with my community: I reached out to fellow freelancers, attended networking events, and participated in online forums to stay connected and inspired.
- Took breaks and pursued passions: I allowed myself to step away from work, recharge, and explore personal projects that fueled my creativity.
- Celebrated small wins: I recognized and rewarded myself for completing tasks, no matter how small, to maintain a positive mindset.
Motivation ebbs and flows, and that’s okay. By setting goals, investing in learning, connecting with others, and prioritizing self-care, you can reignite your passion and overcome the slump. Remember, slow periods can be opportunities for growth and reflection.
