- The 80/20 applies to learning: Identify the 20% of knowledge that will yield 80% of the results, be curious there.
- “Interesting” vs. “Useful”: Discernment is key, otherwise it’s just procrastination disguised as research.
- Embrace beginner’s mind: Let go of needing to be the expert, fresh perspectives can be humbling, and profitable.
- Challenge your biases: We’re drawn to info that confirms what we think. Curiosity seeks out the counterargument.
- Diverse network is fuel: People with different backgrounds spark ideas you’d never come up with on your own.
