What: Focuses on supporting individuals through a change process, recognizing they’ll progress at different rates. Stands for Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement.

Who: Prosci, a change management consultancy.

Why: Even the best plan fails if employees don’t buy in. This helps entrepreneurs understand individual needs.

When: Alongside any change initiative to help with acceptance and adoption.

How:

    1. Assess where employees are at in each ADKAR stage.
    2. Target interventions to the biggest gaps (ex: lack of awareness needs communication, lack of ability needs training).
    3. Continuously reinforce the change, even after launch.
